On a lazy Sunday morning our family watched as giant
snowflakes piled to the ground. Excitement filled our daughter’s eyes because
she knew fun at the William & Harriet Miller Ecological Park was just
minutes away. We bundled up and stepped outside, sleds in tow, as the last few
glistening snowflakes brushed across our cheeks. Finally, enough snow for a
wonderful winter day outside!
As we pulled into the William & Harriet Miller
Ecological Park, it was clear this was the best sledding in town. Families were
walking and driving to the park from every direction. You could hear children
rolling with laughter down the large hill—even a few adults joined the sledding
fun! The smaller hills and play equipment made for great fun as well. Many
families were capturing magical moments on camera, having snowball fights and
playing peak-a-boo while weaving in and out of the eco-friendly equipment.
The park is enjoyed year-round by many local residents. It’s
conveniently located along the community bike path and near many residential
communities. Depending on the time of year, park-goers can enjoy bird watching,
an eco-friendly playscape, butterfly garden and mosaic, native plants and
flowers, walking trails with wooded and prairie views, horticulture programs
and so much more.
Our family has enjoyed watching our daughter take some of her first steps and smell her first flower at William & Harriet Miller Ecological Park. Next time your family is looking for a new place to go, consider experiencing this park. It’s sure to become family favorite.
William & Harriet Miller Ecological Park is located at 755 Miller Road in Lebanon, Ohio.
