Ever thought about investing in a home in need of improvement? Learn about the Hamilton County Landbank, a local organization working to transform communities one property at a time.
Steven Taylor, a Realtor with Sibcy Cline’s Western Hills office, is now working with the Hamilton County Landbank to assist in the marketing and sale of some Landbank-owned homes. These previously neglected properties have been recovered by the Landbank with some being stabilized by the organization. These homes still need more work (especially those that are not stabilized). They will appeal to home buyers, developers or home renovators who want to add their sweat equity and funds to make them into fine places to live once again.
Steven Taylor says, “We are excited about the opportunity of working with the Hamilton County Landbank. To be able to provide a service and support by partnering with them in our various communities will allow us to repurpose vacant, blighted properties and improve quality of life in those neighborhoods. Knowing we will have this positive impact is very satisfying and rewarding. The initial unique properties for sale in Avondale, Price Hill and Northside are great opportunities for the right buyer and will potentially strengthen these communities. The hope is to generate economic opportunity and productive use of these properties in order to create healthier communities. That’s what’s exciting!”
Here is what Will Basil, Landbank Manager, has to report about these upcoming homes for sale:
The Landbank is managed by The Port, a community and economic development agency that fixes broken real estate to promote job creation, homeownership, and equitable development throughout Hamilton County. Since 2012, the Landbank has acquired over 1,700 distressed properties. During the same time, we have identified responsible end-users for nearly 850 properties through partnerships and sales to community development corporations (CDCs), local government partners, private developers, and local residents, giving places new purpose to strengthen Hamilton County communities.
Recently, the Landbank has decided to energize its disposition strategy and community outreach by partnering with Sibcy Cline Realtors® to expand its reach for responsible end-users for Landbank properties.
“…We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Sibcy Cline to get the word out about how we can work with residents and other community stakeholders to bring properties back to life,” said Jessica Powell, Vice President of the Hamilton County Landbank.
The Landbank understands the importance of living in a healthy and thriving neighborhood, but this is only achievable by using the right tools to deal with blighted and vacant properties that hold communities back. The Landbank rehabs vacant homes, rescues stuck properties with complicated backgrounds, and stabilizes historic structures to give them a second lease on life. Through a growing partnership with Sibcy Cline, the Landbank is expanding how it markets and sells its properties. By partnering with a well-connected and respected team of Realtors, the Landbank hopes that these unique properties in Avondale, Price Hill, and Northside will find new life and new purpose.
