Do you have a dining room in your home?
For many people, the dining room can become a “catch all” place for all kinds of things including mail and school papers. But when you are staging your home to sell, every room should have a purpose.
Your dining room should be an inviting space where buyers can imagine entertaining family and friends. Traditional, modern, farmhouse – the style doesn’t matter. The principles remain the same for staging: clean, clutter free and “less is more” for the tabletop and other surfaces.
If you have a light fixture hanging from the ceiling, 30 inches above the tabletop is the standard. And, if this room is small, a large mirror reflecting the space back to itself will make it appear larger. A pop of greenery or fresh flowers is also a great idea for this room.
Remember, per the National Association of Realtors, 71% of buyers say a staged dining room is important.
