Ice Cream Shops Cincinnati

4 Must-Try Ice Cream Shops in Cincinnati

Where did the summer go? Before school starts, there are some ice cream shops I’ll be hitting up with my toddler before fall arrives and it’s apple picking season! Here’s where we are headed for an ice cream sugar rush before fall!

Special Neat Treats Ice Cream Truck

The Special Neat Treats Ice Cream Truck is a local ice cream truck.  Their  focus is to supply jobs for people with special needs while giving to our community.  I had them visit our Hyde Park neighborhood at the beginning of the summer and they’ll be back on Friday, August 12th at 7 pm to Downing Drive! It’s a way to entertain the kids and support a great cause. We can’t wait to see Joel and his crew again.

Favorite Treat: Chaco Taco (They may be discontinuing this treat at stores but you can still get one at the Special neat Treats Ice Cream Truck for now!)

Sweet Tip: If you plan to book them for your neighborhood, book now! Their schedule fills up quickly!  https://www.facebook.com/Special-Neat-Treats-108208874714471/

Hello Honey Ice Cream

Sweet corn honey pecan: hat ice cream flavor counts as a veggie for my toddler, right? Hello Honey Ice Cream is located in Walnut Hills at 1530 Madison Road.  They just opened up their new location at 18 N Fort Thomas Ave in Kentucky, too.  All their ice cream uses unique fresh ingredients and contain no artificial ingredients or flavors.  It’s a win-win for kids and parents!

Favorite Treat: The Brown Butter Caramel and roll cakes are a must.

Sweet Tip: The small size is plenty for a toddler and adult to share. And be sure to check their menu as they rotate flavors and offer seasonal options. https://www.facebook.com/HelloHoneyIceCream/

Aglamesis Brother’s Ice Cream and Candy

If you want your kids to experience a true ice cream parlor, this is it! Located on Oakley Square, it offers delicious ice cream and a special experience for all who walk through their doors. My toddler especially loves the pink decor and fun uniforms the ice cream scoopers wear.

Favorite Treat: A big scoop of their Banana Chocolate Chip Ice Cream!

Sweet Tip: It gets very busy in the evenings, so going during an off time (before dinner, weekend afternoon) will ensure you won’t have to wait in line (or at least a long line) with your entire family. https://www.facebook.com/Aglamesis

Norwood Delite Creamy Whip

An old-fashioned creamy whip ice cream window brings me back to simpler times. It’s a fun experience when you stop by the Norwood Delite Creamy Whip at 4490 Forest Avenue. Seating is outside so I find going in the evenings is best to beat the hot sun!

Favorite Treat: The Dole Whip (just like what they serve at Disney World) is delicious.  And the fruit flavors make you feel a little bit better about serving your kids ice cream for dinner. 🙂

Sweet Tip: Follow them on Facebook for special pop up deals! https://www.facebook.com/Norwooddelitecreamywhip

There’s still time to enjoy the last days of summer with an ice cream treat before it ends. Now on to pumpkin and apples in the next month!
