Say “I Do” to Rustic Charm: Northern Kentucky Wedding Venues

In Campbell County in Northern Kentucky, you get the best of both worlds with amazing family-friendly attractions like Newport on the Levee (home to Newport Aquarium, restaurants,  entertainment and more) as well as places to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city with local parks, campgrounds and farms. This dichotomy makes the county a great destination to have your Northern Kentucky wedding because brides and grooms get picturesque landscapes and fairy-tale backdrops for wedding photos, yet are still close enough to area attractions and venues for guests to explore before or after the big day.

These three Northern Kentucky wedding venues are only a 20-minute drive south from downtown Cincinnati and offer a chandelier-meets-barnwood aesthetic for the perfect wedding-day scenery.

A large wood barn built in 2016 offers enough space for a stage (and plenty of dancing!), bride and groom dressing rooms, staging kitchen and more for a memorable and Instagram-worthy reception. If rain befalls your big day, the barn can double as a ceremony site…plus, they say rain is good luck for a strong marriage!

Icing on the cake: The venue’s Front Porch photo booth and props are complimentary and provide a fun photo oppprtunity for guests.

The Inn at Oneonta

website

7729 Mary Ingles Highway, Melbourne, KY 41059

859-586-4201

For a location with some interesting history to go along with your own historic day, the Inn at Oneonta – a three-story brick mansion – was the only structure in town that survived the Ohio River flood of 1937. That’s a pretty good omen for a long and happy marriage that can survive anything!

The Inn offers a charming white chapel for nuptials or a gazebo overlooking the Ohio River, and a high peak cathedral tent for the reception revelry to follow. Before or after the I dos, the newly wedded couple and guests can enjoy fresh air along the Inn’s walking trails. The venue has space to accommodate overnight stays, as well.

Neltner’s Farm

website

6922 Four Mile Road, Melbourne, KY 41059

859-496-7535

The Neltners have kept it all in the family on their farm for more than a century, starting when  Joseph Neltner, the son of a German immigrant, established the farm in 1892. The farm continues to be family-owned and operated, so you can start your life as a new family celebrating at a venue that truly cherishes what that means.

Creeks, cornfields, bridges and barns all bring the “country” while string lights, natural beauty and the stunning couple bring the “chic” to a wedding at this venue. Couples can choose from three ceremony sites and snazz things up with add-ons like a rustic arch, a campfire perfect for s’mores, and antique farm tables to showcase your cake.

Icing on the cake: Arrive at your wedding ceremony in unique style with a horse-drawn wagon ride or in a 1953 Plymouth.
