My husband and I love exploring new dining spots, and when I came across an old email featuring VV The Italian Experience and FC Cincinnati, I knew we had to go. Tucked in Mt. Lookout Square, this café offers more than just authentic Italian food—it brings the vibrant spirit of Puglia to the Queen City.
Where Soccer Meets Italian Tradition
VV isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a little slice of Italian life. With Cincinnati’s deep Italian roots and a growing soccer culture, it’s easy to see why this spot resonates with FC Cincinnati fans. Picture starting your match day with a cappuccino and cornetto or celebrating a win with an Aperol Spritz and a plate of Italian meats and cheeses. Just a short drive from TQL Stadium, VV could easily become a pre- or post-game ritual.
We were warmly welcomed by Romeo, our server, who moved from Puglia to play soccer at NKU. He shared his love for Inter Milan and FCC—especially goalie Roman Celentano, since Romeo plays the same position.
The café’s roots trace back to Puglia, where the Stefano family’s three-generation dream began. “VV” stands for Vigne Vecchie (Old Vineyard), honoring their grandfather’s land and culinary passion. It also means ViV—“Live!”—capturing their mission to share Italian lifestyle and hospitality with Cincinnati.

A Taste of Salento in Every Detail
Inside, the café is cozy and stylish, with a blend of vintage and modern touches. Each table features a Pumo del Salento, a traditional ceramic symbol of luck and new beginnings—and the inspiration for VV’s logo. From imported coffee to house-made pasta and pastries, every detail reflects a love for authenticity.
Our meal was fantastic. We started with Eggplant Rollatine—crispy rolls filled with ricotta, pecorino, and provolone—and shared two pasta dishes: the Rigatoni VV with pistachio pesto, pancetta, and stracciatella, and the Siciliana with fried eggplant, tomato sauce, and ricotta salata. Next time, we’ll split one— the portions are generous!

Hospitality That Warms You Up
Though busy, the staff was attentive and warm—always greeting with a smile and making you feel seen. At the end of our meal, we were gifted a slice of Mimosa cake, a traditional dessert with sponge cake, Chantilly cream, and pineapple, typically given to women on International Women’s Day in Italy. We saved it for the next night—an unexpected and thoughtful treat.
Whether you’re a soccer fan, a lover of Italian cuisine, or simply seeking a cozy spot with heart, VV The Italian Experience is worth the visit. Step inside, savor the flavors of Salento, and be transported—if only for a moment—to southern Italy.
