Lebanon, Ohio is the epitome of small-town U.S.A. and just oozes with charm. Working in and near Lebanon is simply a breath of fresh air. And one of the perks of doing work in Lebanon is meeting other local business owners.
Traci McReynolds of Photography by Traci has been in business since 2017 and I have known her for over 15 years through local kids’ sports and scouting activities. She was our photographer of choice for our son’s senior pictures and Traci also shot the best family photo ever of us. She has that “special touch”.
I know what I love about Lebanon, Ohio, but was curious to see what Traci thought about the community since she oftentimes works here:
As a local photographer, what are the top five locations you prefer for your photo shoots?
TM: Downtown Lebanon – especially near the LM&M Train Station – are the most-popular spots for photo sessions. Also, my neighborhood lake and gazebo are great spots for photos. Other regional photo spots would include the sunflower field in Mason; Nisbet Park in Loveland; as well as Cincinnati parks including Smale Park and Bellevue Hill Park.
Lebanon has many festivals and events. Which one is your favorite?
TM: I love good food and live entertainment, so a couple of my favorite events are the Third Friday on Mulberry Street and the annual fall Country AppleFest. However, my favorite tradition is going to Irons Fruit Farm in Lebanon every fall. We like to conquer the corn maze as a family and eat their amazing apple fritters.
Lebanon has lots of home styles. Do you have a favorite?
TM: I love driving though Lebanon and seeing all the lovely homes. My favorite is the Queen Anne Victorians in the historic district.
Do you have an interesting photo-shoot story to share?
TM: I’m willing to do almost anything for a great shot. Most recently, I was chased by a swan during a senior photo shoot. This swan was relentless in his pursuit of me and eventually he won. I gave up on the shot. In the meantime, my clients had a good laugh and a funny story to tell!
What’s your favorite place for a meal near Lebanon?
TM: I really need to try out more restaurants in the Lebanon area. My favorite place for a cozy coffee date is Lot No. 1 Coffee, located in Lebanon’s oldest building on Main Street. (And, my favorite hair salon is The One which is also located in a beautifully restored historic building in downtown Lebanon.)
