If you like scenic rides, good conversations, quaint gifts, home decor and antique shoppes, you’ll love the charm of shopping in Southeastern Indiana. It’s the perfect spot for a girls’ day out, which is exactly what I did recently with my mom! We spent a relaxing day catching up on life, browsing the local wares, eating lunch at Lil’ Charlie’s Restaurant and Brewery in Batesville and indulging in Sister Cleo’s homemade peach ice cream at Carriage House Antiques in Oldenburg. Here’s a sampling of our shopping finds:
The Greenbriar Farm and Nursery Shop
This little gem is located in Guilford, Indiana. The owner Ruby delivers a treasure trove of new, unique, and hard-to-find home and garden items. Rich with seasonal gifts, this is a store that you can’t walk out of without buying at least one thing. We’ll definitely be back in as she is flipping the store to fall right now and tagging those new Christmas items!
Blue Willow House
Located in Dillsboro. Indiana, this shop has three floors of antique/vintage furniture, new home décor, clothing and candles. It’s a must-see when you’re shopping in Southeastern Indiana! Charming and beautifully decorated, this is a store you can browse for hours. The woman working there let us in on a secret: the owners were out picking out new items on the Antique Trail, so I’ll be stopping back soon to check out those new finds!
The White Swan
Located in Moores Hill, Indiana, The White Swan has beautifully refurbished antiques brought back to life in the popular Modern Farmhouse style. They also have some very cool vintage signs for your home. I even picked myself out a beautiful pantry sign!
The Old Schubox
You must check out this little sanctuary in Batesville, Indiana. As soon as you walk in, you feel a sense of calmness. The wood elements and white tones paired with the touch of old and new decor creates a soothing environment that makes you want to stick around for a while. The store has a variety of home décor items along with clothing, jewelry and furniture. The owners Dana and John Schuman love bringing old furniture back to life and enjoying their granddaughter and their off days.
